These irresistible beef and cheese croissants are flaky, cheesy, and packed with savory beef. Perfect for breakfast, lunch, or a satisfying snack, they’re easy to make and hard to resist!
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tablespoon water
- Sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions:
- Cook the beef filling: Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook for 3-4 minutes until soft. Stir in the garlic and cook for another minute.
- Add the ground beef, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and Worcestershire sauce. Cook until the beef is browned and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes. Drain any excess grease.
- Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the cream cheese until melted. Let the mixture cool slightly, then mix in the shredded cheddar cheese.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate into triangles. Place a spoonful of the beef mixture on the wide end of each triangle. Roll the dough, starting from the wide end toward the tip.
- In a small bowl, whisk the egg and water. Brush the tops of the croissants with the egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and flaky.
- Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce or alongside a fresh salad.
Tips for the Perfect Beef & Cheese Croissants:
- Let the beef mixture cool before filling the dough to avoid soggy croissants.
- Use sharp cheddar for a bolder flavor, or try mozzarella for extra gooeyness.
- Don’t overfill the croissants to prevent leakage while baking.
- For a gourmet touch, add a pinch of dried thyme or rosemary to the beef mixture.
